Event Description:

This presentation will cover a basic plant overview of how power is generated at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant as well as covering some safety systems and postulated accident responses. There will be a specific focus on the electrical aspects of the plant including the main generator, the emergency diesel generators, and the emergency battery systems. We will cover briefly the nuclear-specific IEEE standards that are part of the plant’s design and license bases. Lastly, there will be a demonstration in the plant’s Control Room simulator, which is a 1:1 duplicate of the actual Control Room that is used for training operators.
