Abstract: This presentation will begin with an explanation of blockchain as an “Internet of Value” based on two key components: Decentralized Ledger Technology and Smart Contracts. From these, we derive 5 key questions to determine if your industry will be disrupted by blockchain. Next, we discuss how to value digital assets on qualitative and quantitative metrics other than price. Then, we explore real applications of blockchain technology, including in the healthcare industry and the Ohio ecosystem. We will then wrap up the presentation with significant regulatory developments and where the industry may be heading through the “exonomic” convergence with other emerging technologies such as A.I., IoT, and Quantum Computing.
