Engineers strive to change the world. How does this desire to make things better affect us personally? This talk will explore the personal reflections of an engineer, looking at the changes he has experienced and the anticipated changes that we all will face. These reflections will be presented with a focus on technology, career, and community.
Presentor’s biography
Mr. Steven Galecki is the current chair of IEEE, Cleveland Section. Professionally he is the manager of engineering for Checkpoint Surgical, a medical device company in Ohio. Before his thirteen years working with medical devices he has developed: power control units for aircraft; MEMs and high voltage integrated circuits for industrial automation; power distribution for telephony; smart power devices for automotive and camera control circuits. He has worked for small start-ups, conglomerates and large corporations. Most of his experience has been in product and technology development, with seventeen patents granted.
