CLRC9 Conference

The local Cleveland INCOSE Systems Engineering chapter is hosting a regional event on October 23-25 in Independence, of which the IEEE Cleveland Section is a Technical Co-Sponsor.

Many IEEE Members will be interested in the scheduled topics, such as Cybersecurity, Biomedical, and general Systems Theory.  Students have an  opportunity for free registration.

Conference Highlights:

  • Cleveland Clinic Tour($35; 10/23, 2:30 – 8:30 PM): The tour provides a closer look at the internal workings of a care facility in terms of care components, functions and strategies to respond to  the needs of the sick and critically ill.  A multi-passenger van will pick you up at the conference hotel and transport you between all three tour segments – the Emergency department, Ebola Treatment Center and the Cleveland Clinic Data center. Following the tour, enjoy dinner in Cleveland’s Little Italy! Dinner is not included in the tour fee. See the flyer on the GLRC9 Website for more information.
  • Banquet at the Great Lakes Science Center, with Keynote Speaker David Long(included in Registration fee; 10/24, 5 – 9 PM): Enjoy an excellent banquet dinner inside the Great Lakes Science Center and tour the NASA Glenn Research Center’s Visitor Center!
  • Multiple, Exciting Tutorials: See a description of our tutorials (both fee-based and free) here. Most tutorials will take place Sunday, October 25.
  • New – Peer Review Workshop (free; 10/25)Join Purdue University Engineering Education researchers in learning how to provide constructive feedback on engineering design solutions at technical reviews. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the researcher’s National Science Foundation-funded study.

Opportunity for Free Student Registration!

The GLRC9 Organizing Committee is offering several meritorious undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to attend the event for free. Sponsored attendance includes the conference registration fee, the cost of the Associate Systems Engineering Professional Certification Exam, and a one-year INCOSE Student Membership. All interested students should complete the application.
